The Senior Social Worker ensures that casework practices meet expected standards of professionalism, agency policies and contractual commitments and provides services utilizing both strength-based services and Solution-Based Casework to families whose children are at risk of foster placement. Reports to: Supervisor: Neighborhood Family Empowerment Center Prevention Program Location: 2471 Morris Ave. Bronx, NY 10468 Hours: 35 hours, exempt Major Duties: Carry a caseload of 4-6 cases and provide comprehensive clinical and case management services to the assigned prevention families. Supervise, train and evaluate 2 staff in all aspects of providing quality prevention services to each worker s caseload. Assigns and tracks referrals. Review FASP s, progress notes and PROMIS/statistical recording to ensure mandate are met. Accompany workers on home visits, as needed. Participate in Family Team Conferences (FTCs), Elevated Risk Conferences (ERCs) and Service Termination Conferences (STCs) when indicated. As well as collaborate with FTC Coordinator in the scheduling of such conferences. Conduct evaluation and annual staff performance reviews. Participate in staff hiring. Represent the program/agency at appropriate external and internal meetings. Implement and integrate the principles and procedures of Solution Based Casework: assessment, family and individual level outcomes, action plans and documentation and celebration. Actively participate in case consultation, continued SBC training and the SBC certification process. Participate in continued SBC training, coaching and the SBC certification process. Facilitate case consultation and offer support and guidance to ensure staff are adhering to the tenets of SBC. Integrate the practices of SBC into every supervisory session Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: LMSW or related field preferred. 1 year child welfare experience required. Demonstrated effective leadership skills. Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective. Basic computer skills; Microsoft and Outlook. Knowledge of Connections and PROMIS a plus.
